This is its first in-house legal role: the company works with outside counsel case by case today, so everyday questions — a customer contract, a privacy question, an employment question in a country it has not hired in before — wait too long. The General Counsel reports to the Head of Finance and collaborates with every function across commercial contracts, employment, privacy and GDPR, intellectual property and litigation. Todoist is legally registered in the United States, which is why a US licence is the licence that lets the role advise on risk, and the company says applicants can live anywhere in the world.
